In a democratic society the individual makes the decisions. This\nfreedom, however, is coming with a responsibility. It is only in authoritarian\nsocieties, that individual responsibility is delegated to the authorities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These were our observations of previous weeks:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The party is going on. Vacation, travel, clubbing, concerts\nand sports events went on as usual. Should the stadium be closed, thousands of\nfans were gathering in front of it. Grandchildren are handed over to grandparents\n(who bear a greater risk of disease) and family events are taking place as\nusual. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voluntary abstinence from events serving personal pleasure exclusively did not happen. Therefore, governments had to act. If a society is not able to make the right decisions \u2013 nowadays there is no lack of information \u2013 it is beyond help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We warmly recommend the following questions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will you take responsibility for yourself and your loved\nones?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is more important to you, the upcoming event or the\nhealth of your family and friends?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are you prepared to abstain from your pleasure events for a\nshort while (the Christians among you are in the middle of lent after all), to\ncatch up on these once this crisis is coming to an end?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the moment, scientists and medics are working their hands\nto the bone 24\/7 to find a solution while you are having parties as if there\nwere no tomorrow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At times of the plague, many noble families retired to their\ncastles to party, not knowing that the plague was already among them. For centuries,\nscience and medicine have made great progress while the behavior of human\nsocieties has not changed. We find this rather depressing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, we do not give up hope for you to question your behavior, if it is for a limited time only. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Should you, 6 months from now, say \u201cOh, it wasn\u2019t as bad as expected\u201d,\nthis is exactly what we try to achieve NOW<\/strong>. This is called preventive\nmeasures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
